One-on-One Tutoring:

Trained volunteer tutors assist adults in Vulcan County who wish to improve their literacy or speaking skills for either work, school, or daily life.

Internet Café:

Partnering with the Vulcan Municipal Library we offer one-on-one help on computers and the internet, Wednesday mornings 10a.m. Starts again September 23 to November 18, 2015 and March 30 – May 18, 2016  Held at the Vulcan Library

Introduction to the world of I-Pads:

Join us at the Vulcan Municipal Library October 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

This course will be available to help with the basic knowledge and instruction on how to use an I-Pad.

Second session at the Vulcan Municipal Library October 27, 2015 at 2:30 p.m.

GED :

WHEN: Wednesdays, Oct. 21 to Feb. 24

WHERE: Lethbridge College video-conference room at CCHS

TIME:  10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHO: 18 years or older and has been out of high school for at least 10 consecutive months.

First Aid/Farm Safety Course:

This program for ESL adults covers basic First Aid training with a focus on critical first aid care; including CPR, stroke recognition, choking, treatment of shock and traumatic injury. The last hour of the program will be dedicated to basic farm and workplace safety including working alone, communication and workplace training. This is a non-certificate course.

Citizenship Classes:

This class will run for 4 weeks.

This class is taught once per week for 4 weeks. The program will be held in the County Classroom which is located on the 2nd Floor of the County Building. 102 – Centre Street Vulcan, AB.

Coffee Talk:

Bringing English Language Learners (ELL) and English speakers together over a cup of coffee.  Practice English while finding out more about your neighbors.

English Game Play

Have fun learning English while playing a variety of card games! You will increase your vocabulary, practice grammar and phonics all while having fun! Check back for dates in January!

Back by Popular Demand – Collective Kitchen

A collective Kitchen is a group of people who get together to plan and cook healthy, low-cost meals. Students will learn Kitchen Math skills as well as improve their reading and conversational English skills. Look for dates and locations in November of 2015.

Lomond ESL Class
