First Aid/Farm Safety

 This program for farmhands covers basic First Aid training with a focus on critical first aid care; including CPR, stroke recognition, choking, treatment of shock and traumatic injury. The last hour of the program will be dedicated to basic farm and workplace safety including working alone, communication and workplace training. This is a FREE non-certificate course. Dinner and materials are included!

WHEN: Friday, March 6 or Friday, March 13

TIME: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Vulcan County Building, 2nd floor

(Classroom On Wheels) Bus

The Alberta Prairie C.O.W. bus brings family literacy support and awareness to rural and urban communities throughout the province.

Alberta Prairie C.O.W. Bus is funded by Government of Alberta, Innovation and Advanced Education.

The Program:

  • The cow bus is a school bus that has been painted like a cow, with the insides transformed into a classroom. It was created to promote literacy in Alberta and is sponsored by the Centre for Family Literacy and Rainbow Literacy Society. It is a free program for children 0 – 6 years of age and their parents. It provides an opportunity for you and your child to explore interactive literacy centre. It includes stories, games and great reading fun! It provides ideas to support early learning at home, giving practical ways to include literacy in everyday life.
